WHAT'S IN THIS NEWSLETTER NEWS A FARM MURDER CLOSE TO HOME On the 25th January an Afrikaans lady aged 88, living and farming alone on the outskirts of Rawsonville, was beaten to death with a chair by two youths - perhaps fueled in part by Julius Malema's exhortations to "kill the farmers", and by government silence. Here there is beauty and a sense of peace all around, and this violation of a person's right to life is really jarring. QUOTEABLE QUOTES "GENTLENESS in our practice and in our life helps to awaken bodhichitta. It’s like remembering something. This compassion, this clarity, this openness are like something we have forgotten. Sitting here being gentle with ourselves, we’re rediscovering something. It’s like a mother reuniting with her child; having been lost to each other for a long, long time, they reunite. The way to reunite with bodhichitta is to lighten up in your practice and in your whole life" - Pema Chodron "TRAUMA is the invisible force that shapes our lives. It shapes the way we live, the way we love and the way we make sense of the world. It is at the root of our deepest wounds. Unaddressed trauma keeps perpetuating painful patterns in our lives" - Gabor Maté GRATITUDE: “Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude” - A.A. Milne THE BIGGER MIND: "METANOIA does not mean a confession of sins, but a change of mind” - Tertullian NON-DUAL THINKING "Life is full of dualities. Things coexist, oppose, contrast and parallel every day. Duality teaches us that every aspect of life is created from a balanced interaction of opposite and competing forces. Yet these forces are not just opposites; they are complementary" - Infinite Potential Newsletter 1st February, 2022 "It is what opposes that helps. God is day and night, Winter and Summer, war and peace, surfeit and hunger" - Heraclitus FORWARD THIS TO A FRIEND Help us to spread the story-in-business message and forward the email to a friend or colleague who you feel would be interested.
