QUOTEABLE QUOTES STORYTELLING Storytelling, you know, has a real function. The process of storytelling itself is a healing process, partly because you have someone there who is taking the time to tell you a story that has great meaning for them. Stories differ from advice, in that once you get them; they become a fabric of your whole soul. That is why they heal you - Alice Walker Stories are not made of words. Stories are not made of pictures necessarily. They’re not made of music. Stories are made of events. Some events are very small, and other events are very large, but that’s what the material is. Stories are made of events. And the more compelling and interesting the events, the more authority the story will have over us. That’s how I see it - Isaac Bashevis Singer When you are in the middle of a story it isn't a story at all, but only a confusion; a dark roaring, a blindness, a wreckage of shattered glass and splintered wood; like a house in a whirlwind, or else a boat crushed by the icebergs or swept over the rapids, and all aboard powerless to stop it. It's only afterwards that it becomes anything like a story at all. When you are telling it, to yourself or to someone else - Authoress Margaret Atwood Clever storytelling is how ripples created by small groups of dedicated changemakers can grow into waves that turn the tide against corporate corruption - Michael O'Heaney Executive Director, The Story of Stuff Project FORWARD THIS TO A FRIEND Help us to spread the story-in-business message and forward the email to a friend or colleague who you feel would be interested.
